Troutbeck Resort Golf Club, Nyanga, Manicaland

This month can be best described as Manicaland golf month. There were three consecutive major tournaments played week after week; Hillside 100 years, Hillside Masters a fortnight ago and this last weekend, the Troutbeck Open Golf tournament which was last played years ago.

This week’s tournament was the relaunching of this once-popular annual event.

There were four professionals who graced the occasion; T Charamba, T Musemburi, B Gondo and A Mabikacheche.

The tournament format was individual Stableford played over two days, 18 holes each day and there were two divisions.

Top seven winners of 1-14 handicaps division were, 1 Chiuta 73 points, 2 C Nyachega 72, 3 Chitimba 69, 4 F Chimbini, 5 B Chibvuri 67, 6 L T Chawota 65, 7 J Hondo 65.

Top 6 in Handicaps 15-24 division were 1 A Toronga 74, 2 T Sande 61, 3 P Crewe 63, 4 M Pahla, 5 E Sithole, 6 Mpore 57.

Hillside Golf Club (Mutare)—The September 21

Wednesday Club sponsored competition winners were, 1 R Tsunga 41 points, 2 F Chimhini 40, 3 M Chikwana 38.

On Saturday there was a three-ball Stableford alliance Cimas corporate golf day competition.

Winners were, 1 P Nathoo/M Nyamwanza/T Takaidza 91, 2 C L Nhandara/F Chatora/S Matanga 90, 3 M Ncube/ S Matondo/P Simbanegavi 89.

Borrowdale Brooke Golf Club — On Saturday
there was the Tim Price memorial tournament with prizes from 1-15.

Top 4 winners were, 1 C Pattison / S Pope 51 points, 2 J Salimo / WBushe 49, 3 S Bass / R Van Heerden 48, 4 A Dixon /N Geyser 48.

The Wednesday Club four ball betterball Stableford competition was sponsored by Eastlea Ice Cream.

The winners were, 1 Wayne du Plessis / Wayne De Beer 49 points, 2 P Peacock /G Cameron 49, 3 M Monson/T Nyamurera 48, 4 B Brent/A Armstrong 48, 5 R Fulton/P Van vuuren 48.

Royal Harare Golf Club — Saturday monthly Stableford winners were, C Division 1 H Chinyanga 39 points, 2 P Zengeya 34, B Division A Hassim 39 points, 2 B Muhwati 35, A Division1 C Nourse 39 points, 2 W Ali 38.

Falcon Golf Club — Sunday individual Stableford winners were, 1 M Munesti 37 points, 2 P Nkomo 35, 3 H Muyambo 34, 4 P Chiwaka 33 and Saturday winners were, 1 L C Masendeke 32 points, 2 A V M Nyaungwa 31, 3 C Mwaramba 26.

Country Club — Saturday morning Municipal league medal game was won by 1 X Malunda 67 net, 2 S M Mukonoweshuro 69, 3 S Rusere 71.

Afternoon club medal game winners were, 1 S M Mukonoweshuro 69 net, 2 A Mugava 70.

Wednesday Club two-ball multiplier competition winners were, 1 B Bester/P Van Rensburg 103, 2 K Ford/P Van Rensburg 90.

Chapman Golf Club — Saturday Club sponsored four-ball betterball competition winners were, 1 R Machingaidze/F Toto 46 points, 2 G Blignaut/T Smith 44. CBZ had a four-ball betterball Stableford modified corporate golf day on Friday.

Prizes ranged from 1-10. Five winners were, 1 C Mutukwa /T Dodza 65 points, 2 E T Chidzonga/J Goromonzi 63, 3 O Chipangura /S Chipangura 59, 4 J Mapani/M N Chimedza 53, 5 Eng Mareya/D Nagar 54.

Winners of Wednesday Club four-ball betterball Stableford sponsored by Huzhegu were, 1 C Nyachiya/G Mabhiza 47 points, 2 D Blignaut/O Landman 47, 3 A Toronga/C Nyachiya 47, 4 K Kamupira/S Zinapeta 47.
