The mining town of Shamva comes alive on Friday night when Dino Mudondo leads a team of urban grooves musicians, mostly from Mashonaland Central, in a fundraising show at Wadzanai Cocktail Bar.
The show is meant to raise funds for the annual Miss Shamva pageant that takes place later this year.
Upcoming musicians Apollos from Mazowe, Shamva-based Soma Dee, Turkiz from Mazowe and Harare’s Tettlaz, will take turns to entertain fans before Mudondo takes to the stage.
Some dancing queens are expected to spice up the event.
Joseph Kufandiko of Mafaro Promotions who is organising the show said they were looking forward to a great event tonight.
“It has been a while since we had a show here and people in the town are looking forward to the event,” said Kufandiko.
“They have been inquiring about the show since we put up posters and we are likely to have an exciting event.”
Mudondo said he would give the people of Shamva a memorable gig through some of his hits.

“It is exciting to perform in remote parts of the country that do not have gigs so often. We have rehearsed a special act for them and we will make sure that everyone at the show enjoys our performance,” said Mudondo.
Although the supporting acts are not popular, concert organisers said the young musicians were promising performers that could soon hog the limelight.
Mafaro Promotions has hosted a number of popular musicians in Shamva over the last couple of years.
