Inline Academy hammered Mutare team Faith Drive 5-0 at Sakubva Stadium on Sunday to pile pressure on Women’s Football Super League log leaders Black Rhinos Queens.

The 5-0 scoreline helped Inline close the goal-difference gap to nine goals as they are tied at 20 points.

Black Rhinos are on top of the log because of a superior goal difference.

They have scored 37 and conceded four goals while Inline have 29 and have let in five goals. Black Rhinos Queens won 2-0 against New Orleans in Harare.

Rejoice Kampfumvuti scored a hat-trick while Sfundile Moyo and Slibeni Moyo grabbed one each to hand Inline victory. Inline coach Shadreck Mlauzi was happy with the result although he blamed the team for failing to utilise many scoring chances.

“We faced resistance from Faith Drive, but because of our experience and quality in the team we managed to win.

“The team played well, but I felt that we could have scored many goals had the players not missed so many chances that came our way,” he said.

Faith Drive is winless and anchor the log. Their defence has been porous as they have conceded 46 goals and only scored two goals in eight matches. New Orleans is fifth with 10 points in eight matches after their loss to Black Rhinos.

They have two wins, two draws and four losses, while Black Rhinos has six wins, two draws and have not lost a match. Mufakose are third with 16 points while Chipembere are third from the bottom with four points.
