Warriors coach Norman Mapeza has dropped midfielder Quincy Antipas and recalled Kaizer Chiefs left back Zhaimu Jambo for the crucial 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Cape Verde early next month.

The game takes place in Praia on Saturday, October 8 at 1700hrs.The Warriors technical team named only 18 players for the trip.

“There is no time for training here as we plan to leave on October 3, which is a Monday, and go via Senegal and arrive there on Tuesday. We will play on Saturday and leave immediately after the match, that’s why we excused most of the local players,” said team manager Sharif Mussa announcing the team yesterday.

Only Dynamos’ Washington Arubi, Caps United’s Tapiwa Khumbuyani and FC Platinum’s Daniel Vheremu will make the trip from the local contingent.

Antipas, who played in the 3-0 win over Liberia, has been dropped while Jambo is slowly cementing the left-back position at Chiefs and comes in as cover for Germinal Beerschot’s Vusa Nyoni.

Star striker Knowledge Musona has recovered from injury, defender Thomas Sweswe and striker Nyasha Mushekwi are back from suspension.
