Kaizer Chiefs and Warriors defender Thomas Sweswe is focused ahead of Saturday’s MTN8 football final with Soweto arch-rivals Orlando Pirates.

The two glamour clubs will meet at FNB Stadium, with Sweswe determined to dethrone the reigning champions.

“We have set ourselves the goal of winning the MTN8,” he told Amakhosi’s official website. “Our attention and focus is totally on this game and we started the hard work on Monday and are prepared to toil in the build-up to the game. “Staying focused will be key and hopefully we will be successful on Saturday.”

While optimistic about Chiefs’ prospects, Sweswe admits Bucs, domestic treble-winners last term, will provide a stern test.

“I do believe that Pirates will be looking to hold on to their title at all costs because they are the defending MTN8 champions.

“Having said that, we will be ready for them and are willing to match them on the field.”

Zimbabwean players Tinashe Nengomasha, Zhaimu Jambo, Willard Katsande and Lincoln Zvasiya have all made their home at Chiefs.
