The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match between Masvingo United and Black Mambas at Mucheke Stadium on Saturday afternoon hangs in the balance as the police side was on Friday seeking postponement of the match.

Black Mambas only arrived back in the country on Thursday from the Southern Africa Police Commisioners’ Games in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The police side’s chairman Timothy Mudzimurema yesterday told NewsDay Sport the club had made correspondence with the league seeking postponement and was awaiting response from the league.

PSL chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele confirmed Black Mambas had approached him but he had referred the matter to the chairman of the league Twine Phiri.

Phiri’s mobile phone was however not reachable on Friday when NewsDay Sport sought a comment.

Earlier, Black Mambas coach John Ncube had said his players were tired.
