Zifa Central Soccer League title aspirants ZimAlloys are keen to keep pace with leaders Hardbody when the two sides clash at Wilson Fields on Saturday.

Alloys, who have gone unbeaten in eight outings, are sitting on third spot with 36 points, six short of the leaders.

After enduring a slow start to the season which was in contrast to their pre-season billing, Alloys have recently put themselves back into the reckoning to win the title.

But the prospect of facing Hardbody is never one to relish as the leaders are strong in attack with striker Callisto Maheya the league’s top marksman with 12 goals.

Hardbody have also in their books former Lancashire Steel and Caps United player Malvern Nyakabangwe who has proved prolific since he joined the club from Chrome Stars in July.

History favours Tavaka Gumbo’s men after they dispatched Alloys 3-1 in the reverse fixture in April.

Another potentially stormy affair is on the cards at Dulibadzimu Stadium where second-placed Tripple B crosses swords with Chapungu on Saturday.

All the region’s matches will be played on Saturday to make way for Sunday’s Zimbabwe Warriors-Liberia match.

Chapungu, who dropped back to fourth place last weekend, make the long trip to Beitbridge intending to claim maximum points and stay within sight of Hardbody.

They will be missing the services of suspended striker Philip Marufu, leaving Brighton Mugoni with the huge task up front.

Chapungu are yet to taste defeat this season in 19 outings while Tripple B are enjoying an eight-game unbeaten streak.

Former Premiership side Tongogara, whose title push has waned in recent weeks, play relegation-haunted TM Eagles at Mbizo Stadium on Saturday.

The former Premiership side have ageing former Zimbabwe Warriors defender Melody Wafawanaka in their fold. Chrome Stars have a tricky assignment at home against Gweru Pirates who are fighting for dear life.
