FC Platinum chairman Tadison Zhou has poured cold water on allegations his club has ardent belief in juju.

This follows ugly scenes in their two recent matches. In their home match against Motor Action at Mandava Stadium about a fortnight ago, a club marshal blocked the visiting players from entering the field for pre-match warm up until the home side players stepped onto the pitch first.

A few minutes later, an FC Platinum supporter splashed some urine-like liquid on Motor Action assistant coach Prince Matore in front of journalists who were collecting team cards.

Last Saturday at Luveve Stadium, “Moneybags”’ belief in juju reared its ugly head again when reigning Soccer Star of the Year Charles Sibanda was arrested for allegedly assaulting Chicken Inn assistant coach Adam Ndlovu before he sprinkled urine in the home side’s dressing room.

The ill-tempered match ended in a one-all stalemate.

But the club’s chairman this week moved in to scoff at the juju allegations, dismissing them as “total madness”.

“To say we use juju to win our matches is total madness. As a club we do not subscribe to such things. All these allegations are just a psychological warfare meant to intimidate us.

“If I see someone holding a bottle of water would it be right for me to just bolt in from nowhere and conclude they are up to some strange use of juju?” queried Zhou.

“We will not let all that affect us, but we will remain focused on playing football and win the championship.”

The club is currently undergoing a turbulent run of a four-game winless streak and remains joint leaders on 42 points with Motor Action who fluffed the chance to assume the driving seat when they were held to a goalless draw by struggling Zimbabwe Saints at White City Stadium last Sunday.

The Bulls are however on top courtesy of a superior goal difference.
