War veteran Joseph Chinotimba demanded and received a laptop from Information and Communication Technology minister Nelson Chamisa yesterday, saying he would use the laptop to record all the farms he grabbed.

Chinotimba received the laptop at Chamisa’s office. He told NewsDay yesterday: “What do you use laptops for? It is a government exercise for people and I want to write down all the farms we took under the land reform programme and also to have names of the remaining farms so that we take them and give people like you.”

Chinotimba — known for his clownish behaviour and not-so-fluent English — led the infamous land invasions in 2000 and rose in dramatic rags-to-riches style from being a municipal police officer to a businessman.
