National Under-20 football mentor Taurai Mangwiro was on Thursday officially presented with his International German Football Federation (DBF) Level B coaching course certificate at a function held in the capital on Thursday.
Mangwiro, who is also coach of 2008 Premiership champions Monomotapa was presented with his certificate by the Chargé d’Affaires of the German Embassy Peter Primus.
The Monoz coach, who is also a holder of a local Level four certificate thanked all stakeholders who played a part in facilitating his trip to Germany.
“I would like to thank everyone who played a part in facilitating my trip to Germany which I think has gone a long way in solidifying the relationship between the Zifa and the German Football Association.
“I hope the knowledge that I acquired there will come in handy not only for me as an individual and my club Monomotapa but also for the nation as a whole. Already you can see that we have made an attempt to share the knowledge I gained with the other colleagues,” Mangwiro said.
Mangwiro also paid tribute to Zifa’s German technical adviser Klaus Dieter Pagels and Zifa technical director Nelson Matongorere who facilitated the course and former Warriors and Moroka Swallows midfielder Edzai Kasinauyo, who donated sporting equipment for the coach’s use during the course.
Also in attendance at the function were Zifa acting chief executive Joseph Mamutse, Zifa board member Solomon Mugavazi and the Monomotapa leadership.
The course covered areas like the development of football, tactics, training methodology, football methodology, individual team skills, demonstration lessons, sports medicine, laws of the game, match observations, club training observations and promotion of talent.

The courses target motivated experienced coaches, male or female, who can teach other coaches in their own countries making use of what they learn.
