Jomo Cosmos striker Alois Ngwerume has said his side still need to adjust to the top-flight after the club suffered three defeats in their opening three matches of the Absa Premiership season.

The newly-promoted side have lost to Kaizer Chiefs (1-2), Mamelodi Sundowns (0-2) and Free State Stars (0-1) and are already many people’s early favourites for the drop.

But the former Zimbabwean international said the players are still getting used to each other and he believes that once they do, they will be a formidable unit.

“We still need to gel and we still need to adjust to the Premiership level . . . then people will see the best of us,” Ngwerume told KickOff.com. “It is still early in the season and we believe our performances will improve as time goes on.”

Ngwerume himself is experienced at the top level, having arrived in South Africa seven seasons ago and helped Moroka Swallows to the 2004 Absa Cup.

He has also had spells at First Division sides Dynamos and United FC, before joining Ezenkosi ahead of the 2011/12 Premier Soccer League season.
