A thrilling encounter in the Women’s Football Super League is in the offing on Saturday afternoon at Barham Green Sports Club when Bulawayo side Inline Academy host Mufakose Queens.

The match promises to be exciting as eight of the players from both clubs are members of the Mighty Warriors.

Inline has top striker Rudo Neshamba, Samukeliwe Zulu and Nobuhle Majika.

Emmaculate Msipa, Ruvimbo Mutyavaviri, Eunice Chibanda, Marjoury Nyaumwe and reliable goalkeeper Onai Chingawo are part of the Mufakose Queens squad.

Black Rhinos, Mufakose Queens and Inline Academy are tied on 10 points after four matches. Black Rhinos top the log by virtue of a superior goal difference followed by Mufakose Queens, while Inline Academy are on third spot.

Inline Academy coach Shadreck Mlauzi on Friday told NewsDay Sport that they were ready for the challenge against Mufakose Queens.

“We want to give Mufakose Queens a real test as they have mostly been playing weaker teams. Their only tough match was when they played Black Rhinos and they drew 1-1. We will give them a good fight,” he said.

Inline Academy walloped Chipembere Queens 7-0 in a mid-week fixture on Wednesday in Gweru.

Inline Academy’s Talent Mazetetse, Kelly Phiri, Judith Lunga and Sibonginkosi Nleya will have to pass a late fitness taste as they are nursing injuries.

Mufakose Queens coach Langton Giwa was confident that they would prevail over the Bulawayo team.

“We are well prepared for the game. Inline Academy are a good side and we are not underrating them. But we are hoping to win the game,” he said.

Both teams were yet to lose a match since the season started.

In their first game Mufakose Queens beat Masvingo Queens 11-0. They collected a point against Black Rhinos as the match ended on a one-all stalemate.

The Harare side thumped Mutare side Faith Drive 7-1 and beat Cosa Guruve 5-1 on Wednesday.

Inline Academy have been impressive as they beat Flame Lily 2-1 at home in the first match before they shared the spoils drawing 1-1 against fellow Bulawayo side New Orleans.

They also dismissed Cyclone 4-0 at Barham Green Sports Club on July 16.

In another match set for Bulawayo, fifth-placed New Orleans square off against seventh-placed Chipembere Queens at Raylton Sports Club.
