Three Zimbabwean boys will have a lifetime opportunity when they travel to Italy for trials with European giants AC Milan after impressing the club’s junior programme technical director Fabrizio Bobbiesi who was in the country last week.

World Wide Scholarship (WWS) who initiated Bobbiesi’s visit to the country yesterday revealed that Solomon Solobala, Marwin Mudzuka and Anesu Fensi were selected from more than 1 500 boys who attended trials held at Churchill High School last week.

The three will attend the AC Milan junior camp in October and participate with children scouted from all over the world.

Bobbiesi said he was impressed with the talent he saw in Zimbabwe.

“Zimbabwe talent is very good. The children are very disciplined and will go far in soccer. I look forward to coming to Africa with WWS annually to conduct this exercise.

“This is a good development between WWS and AC Milan Junior programme,” said Bobbiesi.

WWS president Munyaradzi Maraire said: “This is a new day for Africa in football. It is now time to see children from impoverished backgrounds participate on a level playing field and flourish. I am very excited about the partnership with the AC Milan Junior programme and I believe there is more to come in terms of programmes that will develop soccer in Zimbabwe as a whole from exchanges with coaches to exchanges with players.”

WWS said at least 200 other talented boys were also identified during the trials and would be given a lifetime opportunity to participate in the AC Milan Continental Cup tournament next year.
