Two more riders have withdrawn from the Zambia squad that left on Thursday for this weekend’s International Motorcycling Federation Africa Motocross Championship at Donnybrook Raceway.

Zambia Motor Sport Association president Marco Comana and head of women in motorcycling, Priscilla Lionnet, named the two in separate interviews on day, as MX1 class rider Nicholas Comana and Munashe Tsindikidzo, who campaigns in the 125cc class.

Lionnet said the latest inclusion to the team, which initially had 14 riders, is Zimbabwe-based 50cc teenage rider Davin Cocker, until recently based in Chisamba and still races on a Zambia licence.

Marco said his son Nicholas had an ankle injury while Tsindikidzo had school commitments, leaving 10 riders to represent the country at the annual championship attracting riders from Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

MX2 rider Sheldon Holloway and the Heygate siblings, Leah and Scott, who both race in the 85cc, were the first riders to pull out of the squad due to logistical problems.

The riders making the squad are Shamus McCahey, Dale Holliday, Brandon Reed, Justin Barrett, Wesley Irwin, Kyle Bohling, Dima Fircks, Bradley Lionnet, Davin Cocker and female rider Jenna Bohling.
