Various Urban Groovers under Hesh Mfesh Entertainment have combined forces to produce a 3-track album entitled Zimbabwe.

Produced by the Urban Grooves Association (UGA) Public Relations Officer who is also Hesh Mfesh owner, Joe Machingura said the album was a Zimbabwe promotional album aiming to promote the country, its resources and people.

“The album has only three songs namely Zimbabwe, Gwenyambira and Fire in Africa which all touch on different aspects about the country,” said Machingura.

He said the title track, Zimbabwe was about the caring and peace loving people and magnificent natural landscapes. It features several artists who include Trevor Dongo, Leonard Mapfumo, Romeo Anthony aka Shinso, Taurai Mandebvu and Dj Mbale.

Machingura said Gwenyambira was a song about original Zimbabwean music and gives praise to local musicians, producers and Djs.

“The third song entitled Fire in Africa features upcoming artistes Lazzie T and Koji Love. It mainly talks about the African continent that is rich in gold and discourages imperialism and other people that may want to colonise Zimbabwe or any other African country,” he said.

Machingura said the compilation was aimed at encouraging the nation to be positive about Zimbabwe. He said it was important for people to realise that positive words could bring out positive thinking resulting in positive results, benefiting everyone in the name of nation building.

“I am very happy that since the compilation was released, it has received great response through massive airplay it has received from the country’s various radio stations,” he said.

Machingura said the group will be working on videos soon and he hoped that the response from the public will remain positive.

He said it was also important for all musicians of various genres to sing about their country which should in the end promote tourism.
