The industrial index marginally rose 0,06 points (0,04%) to close at 161,83 points Tuesday.
Heavyweight counters pulled up the index as British American Tobacco gained 8,10 cents to trade at 95,10 cents.
ABC Holdings moved up 5 cents to close at 70 cents. Innscor, Old Mutual and SeedCo added a cent each to close at 64 cents, 151 cents and 123,10 cents respectively.
Telecoms operator Econet dropped 9,90 cents to trade at 430,10 cents while Chemco, Meikles and TA were each a cent down at 8 cents, 28 cents and 10 cents respectively. Hunyani retreated 0,70 cents to 5 cents.
The mining index was 0,74 points (0,46%) lower at 160,61 points after Bindura shed 1,50 cents to trade 4,50 cents with Falgold, Hwange and RioZim unchanged at previously trading day’s levels.
Last week a total of 35 counters traded unchanged, 25 counters were weaker while only 16 counters gained ground. Steelnet was last week top performer with a 50% gain while Falgold followed with an increase of 14,29%.
Foreign investors are the major players on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange owing to liquidity constraints affecting mostly locally-registered companies.
