Veteran South African house music disc jockey, DJ Fresh, lived up to expectations when he performed in the early hours of Sunday morning at Bar Labhala.
The event confirmed house music has a large following in Bulawayo as the club filled up hours before DJ Fresh started performing.
Revellers came in their numbers to enjoy Fresh’s mixes and the 5FM Radio presenter did not disappoint.
As the club swelled to capacity, word soon spread that DJ Fresh would only play after midnight, but this did not discourage the revellers that patiently waited for the artist’s turn.
They were in the meantime entertained by the Ballers’ League disc jockeys who are based at the club.
When DJ Fresh finally made his way to the turntable there was excitement and jostling, with most of his fans raising their cellphones high to take pictures of their idol.
Fresh gladly obliged by occasionally waving at his fans and smiling all the time while selecting music.
He played good, deep house music that was well mixed.
The stage was full as revellers danced the night away, at times singing along to some of the songs they knew.
Fresh would also occasionally create suspense by singing some lines of popular songs before unleashing a thumping deep house music instrumental, much to the joy of revellers.
He promised to return to the country in the next few months.
