Former Caps United coach Lloyd Chitembwe has made a sensational return to the club which unceremoniously dumped him in September last year.

The former Caps United gritty midfielder took over from Maxwell Takaendesa Jongwe whose reign since taking over from Moses Chunga last month has been nothing short of a disaster.

Chitembwe started his duties Wednesday morning with a training session at the National Sports Stadium after meeting the Caps leadership.

Jongwe had earlier on Tuesday told NewsDay Sport that he was still the Caps United coach and insisted that he will not be pushed out of the club by a militant section of the club supporters.

The former Kiglon’s gaffer has failed to meet expectations since taking over from Chunga.

He has drawn one match against Gunners and lost four games against Gunners, Dynamos, Monomotapa and Masvingo United.

It will be interesting though to see if a section of hardcore Caps United supporters who were behind the sacking of Chitembwe will embrace his return.
