Harare boxer Tinashe Madziwana says he is confident that he will win the WBA Pan-African flyweight title when he fights Namibian boxer Joseph Hilongwa in Windhoek, Namibia, on Saturday.

Madziwana left the country by road for Namibia yesterday and is set to do battle in a 12-round title contest.

He is joined by fellow Harare boxer Ronald Tamani who will trade leather with Tommy Nakashimba in a six-round super bantamweight six-round non-title contest.

Bulawayo boxer Dumezweni Ntuli will exchange blows with Albinus Felesinu in a junior lightweight non-title contest.

In an interview with NewsDay Sport before departure, Madziwana said he was optimistic that he would prevail over the Namibian boxer.

“I am well-prepared for the fight. I am definitely going to win because I have been preparing for the fight for almost two months.

“I think I have had enough time to get ready for the title fight,” he said.

Madziwana has fought 10 professional fights, winning five and losing five.

Manager of the Zimbabwe boxers, Peter Kambuyi, said: “If he plays according to instruction there is no doubt that Madziwana will bring the title home. I am confident that the boxers will win all their fights,” he said.
