JOHANNESBURG — The agent dealing with Knowledge Musona’s transfer to German side Hoffenheim has denied there is a sticking point over the fee and is confident the 21-year-old’s move will finally be concluded next week.
The Zimbabwe striker joined up with the Bundesliga club earlier this month for an assessment and had been expected to seal his switch by now.
But despite confirmed interest from a number of other clubs, including Glasgow Celtic, Mike Makaab of ProSports International reveals it is only the structure of the deal that has delayed proceedings.
“The numbers have all been agreed upon; it’s just the structure of the deal that we have to try and bring to some kind of finality to,” he told KickOff.com.
“We’re still trying to finalise a few other things this week, but I would say we should know by Wednesday or Thursday whether that has happened.”
Musona returned to South Africa for the Vodacom Challenge and played 76 minutes in Thursday’s Soweto Derby defeat. If all goes to plan, that should have been his last appearance for Amakhosi and Makaab has tipped last season’s PSL top scorer to make his mark in the Bundesliga.
“He’s technically very well-prepared and has a very good character,” he said.
“That is vital because when he went to Hoffenheim, you could see that he fitted well into the squad dynamics after only a few days and that can be difficult for a young African player who is playing abroad for the first time. I think this kid has a remarkable future ahead of him.”
