-

Chibuku Road to Fame 2010 champions Club Shanga will Friday launch their debut album at Grain Marketing Board Sports Club in Kambuzuma.

The album titled The Fullness of Time was recorded at Gramma Records courtesy of Delta Beverages as part of the group’s winning benefits.

The album carries tracks Guyu, Mukaushande, Ndinaye, Musango, Mwoyo Wangu, Makwikwi, Simuka and Kusaziva.

Guyu is a song that encourages open information sharing in issues related to HIV and Aids.

Mukaushande is a motivational piece exploring the need to work hard in life.

Ndinaye, Musango, Mwoyo Wangu, Makwikwi and Simuka are some of the group’s songs truly influenced by its Afro-centric style which they call “Afro Shangara”.

In an interview with NewsDay Club Shanga lead vocalist Farai Baramasimbe who has so far won the hearts of many through his amazing vocal ability said they were happy to launch their debut project.

“It’s simply amazing that we are finally there. At least fans that have supported us in our live performances and our humble journey to mainstream music can now listen to us at home,” said Baramasimbe

“We are calling on many people to come and witness this event and as a group we are very happy that we managed to sail through difficult times and today we all enjoy and celebrate what we expect to be a magical experience.”

Music Crossroads director Zimbabwe Mathius Bangure, who was recently on a tour of Europe with the group, said he was appreciative of Club Shanga’s rise from grassroots to breaking barriers and performing internationally.

“I am humbled to see that this group managed to sail through despite some of the challenges they faced. This album launch will definitely see them rising to greater heights in this industry,” said Bangure.

Club Shanga is made up of seven members: Farai Baramasimbe, Georgina Mutenda, Musa Maruwa, Perseverance Mataranyika, Vongai Mukonde, Trust Mutombo and Aggabu Nyabinde, the son of legendary musician Bob Nyabinde who replaced the late Nixon Sauchi.
