A “small house” of a Bulawayo man has been arraigned before the courts for allegedly parading her nudity in front of her lover’s juvenile children while their mother was away in South Africa.

The woman, Portia Zimamba (28) who is in love with the father of the juveniles, a boy and a girl aged 11 and 14 years respectively, was not asked to plead to indecent assault and indecent exposure when she briefly appeared before Bulawayo magistrate, Ndumo Masuku.

She was remanded out of custody to July 20. Prosecutor Admire Chikwayi told the court that sometime in November 2008, the juveniles’ mother went to South Africa to seek employment leaving the children with their father.

The man allegedly took advantage of his wife’s absence and hooked up with Zimamba whom he brought home and introduced her to his children as a maid.

Zimamba would visit the house on Saturdays only, the court heard.

However, she later started spending most of her time at her lover’ house with the children.

Sometime during the year, she allegedly stormed into the bathroom where one of the girls was taking a birth and indecently exposed her private parts to her.

The girl protested and allegedly asked Zimamba to stop coming into the bathroom.

Zimamba allegedly told the girl that if she wanted to have sex while still at school she should use bananas.

After the incident, Zimamba allegedly stripped naked and walked from the bedroom to the sitting room where she sat on a sofa in the presence of the children. She allegedly threatened to stab them if they told anyone about the incident.

However, the girls reported their ordeal to their mother on her return early this year.

The mother fought with her husband over the matter and it spilt into the courts. She then advised the court about her children’s ordeal at the hands of her husband and his “small house”.

The magistrate, Tancy Dube- Chipumha then ordered the arrest of Zimamba for indecent exposure and indecent assault.
