South Africa-based urban groover Enock Guni aka Nox is set to embark on an international tour in September.

The tour will begin in the United Kingdom on September 30 and end in Australia on October 29.

“In the UK I will first perform in Birmingham on September 30 and then in Leeds on October 1 before going to Australia where I will perform in Melbourne on October 28 and finally in Perth on October 29,” said Guni.

He said after his performances in Australia he would be heading to the United States and then Canada, but details of the shows are still to be released.

Guni said the tour would be an opportunity for him to perform tracks from all three of his latest albums Classic Love Songs, 50 Minutes to Fame and Pasichigare.

“Classic Love Songs has 10 tracks and is mainly composed of slow mid-tempo songs which people are used to in my beat. 50 Minutes to Fame is an African urban contemporary album with upbeat songs all in English,” he said.

The singer, who is usually identified with slow to mid-tempo songs with an R&B feel said Pasichigare would definitely excite listeners and also impress them at the same time because of the sudden change from urban contemporary to traditional beat.

He said in Pasichigare, he had included a wedding song Makorokoto with Zimbabwe’s mbira queen Chiwoniso Maraire, one of the country’s internationally acclaimed musicians.

“People out there should expect to see me at my best and I’m definitely going to proudly represent Zimbabwe,” said Guni.

He said the tour had been made possible by Australian promotion company Afrostar.

According to Guni, Afrostar spokesperson Keith Edwards, wrote to him saying: “This event is to basically boost your profile from just local artist to international performer.”
