Music superstar Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi’s Black Spirits band was involved in a freak road accident on Saturday morning near Gweru while driving back to Harare after an overnight show in Bulawayo.

Group spokesperson Shepherd Mutamba confirmed the accident yesterday, and identified the injured as Never Mpofu, Charles Chipanga, Simba Dembedza and Namatayi Mubariki.

Mutamba said the four were treated of minor injuries at Clay Bank Clinic in Gweru and discharged.

He, however, declined to reveal the cause of the accident. Mutamba said as a result, the band had postponed its Saturday night show at the Standard Bank Arena in Johanesburg, South Africa to July 16.

Tuku was travelling in a separate car behind the band.
