The win saw Dynamos leapfrogging Caps United into fifth position with 22 points while the Green Machine is just one point below on the ladder.

It was yet another sorry sight as a section of a hardcore Caps United fans barricaded the exit point to the stadium, baying for the coach’s head. They had to be dispersed by the police.

The match got off to a bad start when it kicked off 15 minutes late to allow the fans who had crammed outside the gates into the stadium.

A handful of the supporters however forced their way into the stadium while others could be seen scaling the perimeter fence .

The National Sports Stadium proved an ideal venue for a match of this magnitude as the supporters turned up in their numbers and produced a magical atmosphere.

It’s unfortunate the players failed to reciprocate on the field of play. And save for the last-minute goal by substitute Muparati, who came in for the injured Denver Mukamba in the 54th minute, the game could have gone down as one of the worst derbies.

The first half was a dull affair with both Chunga and Mutasa opting for a conservative approach by packing their respective midfield and defence.

It appeared neither coach who came into match under pressure wanted to lose at any cost. Too many stray passes was the order of the day.
