High Court judge Justice Tendai Uchena yesterday reserved judgement in the bail application by the 20 MDC-T activists who were last month remanded in custody by a Harare magistrate, charged with the murder of a police officer in Glen View.

The bail application started on Tuesday when the defence team led by Charles Kwaramba submitted that the MDC-T activists were suitable candidates for bail, arguing that they were not a flight risk.

But prosecutor Edmore Nyazamba opposed the application arguing that the accused were facing a serious offence and that it would not be in the interest of justice to set them free.

The activists are alleged to have fatally assaulted Inspector Petros Mutedza who was on duty together with other police details as they attempted to stop the unsanctioned gathering.
