Castle Lager Premier Soccer League club Gunners has released the trio of Ashley Rambanepasi, Eddie Mashiri and Leonard Tsipa ahead of their rescheduled relegation-battle clash against Shooting Stars at Sakubva Stadium this afternoon.

Gunners manager Wellington Mpandare confirmed to that the club has indeed parted ways with the trio after they expressed willingness to leave.

Rambanepasi told the Gunners management that he got a contract from a club in Cyprus while Mashiri and Tsipa’s next destination is not clear.

“Rambanepasi, Mashiri and Tsipa have been released from the club and will not be part of the game against Shooting Stars. They had indicated to us that they want to look for greener pastures so we could not stand in their way,” he said. “The game against Shooting Stars is going to be very difficult for us as we will be playing a team that is fighting relegation. It is a very crucial game for us as we have to continue picking up the points as we did last weekend.”

Also missing from the team are goalkeeper George Chigova, David Sengu and Nathan Ziwini who have disappeared from the team, while Under-23 captain Qadr Amin is injured.

However, with Shooting Stars, they have to play with their backs against the wall as the Wild Boys who currently anchor the log, will be aiming to impress the Mutare community with a win on their first match at Sakubva.

The Patson Ndabambi-coached side has just managed two wins and lost 10 of their 12 matches this season.
