Kwangwari Kwangwari was the winner of the Mbada Golf Association Tournament which was sponsored by Crusader Insurance at the Harry Allen Golf Club on Sunday. Kwangwari had a gross of 79 in play-off 12 which gave him a net of 67 in the medal competition.
The runner-up was Lorraine Huwa with a gross of 84 in play-off 14 as she got a net of 70.
Alexio Paradzai was the third-placed golfer as he got a gross of 89 in play-off 19 resulting in him getting a net of 70.
Huwa counted out Paradzai to emerge as the runner-up in the competition.
Moses Mlalazi had a best gross overall as he shot a 75 playing in handicap four, netting 71.
Mlalazi had a good day in the greens as he also won the longest drive in the men’s category while there was no winner in the women’s section.
Kwangwari also had a good day in the greens as he won the nearest pin on hole number four.
The nearest pin on hole number seven was won by Acy Zerf.
Mufaro Chivonivoni won the nearest pin on hole number 12 while Moses Mzapu was the winner of the nearest pin on hole number 17.
The chairman of Mbada Golf Association Brian Sanangurai, captain Tonderai Gavu, Bulawayo City Council town clerk Middleton Nyoni are some of the golfers who took part in the tournament.
Margaret Vera and Linda Ruvaya are some of the women golfers who took part in the tournament that saw thirty golfers take to the greens.
The winners of the tournament walked away with prizes which ranged from blankets, carpets, flasks and whiskey.
