Thousands of Zimbabwean motoring enthusiasts are expected to visit the country’s first comprehensive national motor trade exhibition in more than a decade when it takes place in Harare on Saturday.

The Zimbabwe Motor Show has been created and organised by a group of people from within the local motor trade, who felt a public platform for the motor industry was long overdue.

The exhibition venue will be the Borrowdale race course in-field area, which has been undergoing extensive preparations during recent weeks to enable it to host a quality event that showcases vehicles of all kinds, as well as goods and services of a wide variety from within the motor industry and many that are peripheral to it.

On show will be motor vehicles of all sizes and kinds, 4×4 and outdoor adventure suppliers, vehicle and insurance companies, tyres, parts and accessories manufacturers and suppliers, vehicle rescue firms, fuel companies and suppliers of a wide range of other goods and services.

Clubs belonging to the Zimbabwe Motor Sports Federation have been invited to use complimentary stands, as have trade organisations such as the MIAZ. Marine products such as boats will be on show too, adding to the variety and appeal to the consumer.

This will be the first national motor show since a series of shows held in the late 1990s, although a popular mini-show took place at Donnybrook motorsport complex in 2004 and 2005.

A motor show is primarily aimed at giving visitors access to new vehicles, but key to overall success is ensuring that the content and nature of the exhibition is so comprehensive that any visitor can find direct access to suppliers of everything related to the motor trade without having to do after-show follow up.

Confirmed exhibitors at present include industry leaders such as Toyota Zimbabwe, Nissan Zimbabwe, Willowvale Mazda Motor Industries, Zimoco, Duly’s and other representatives of the world’s leading motor trade brands.
