Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi will perform in the eastern border city of Mutare for the first time this year.

He is scheduled to perform at Chapter One Leisure Centre on Saturday.

Tuku is no stranger to Chapter One but it will be his first time to perform at the joint since G3 Big Fun Events Management Company took over the leisure centre.

G3 Big Fun is run by Obey “Big Fish” Hove and Tichawona “DJ Fresh” Zhuwawo. Each time Mtukudzi and his band, The Black Spirits, perform at the spacious leisure complex he attracts a full house.

Hove said after a sold-out Macheso show at Chapter One a fortnight ago they have decided to bring another big act to the venue.

Hove said they felt honoured to be hosting Mtukudzi soon after his overseas tour.

Tuku has been out of the country for the past three months touring South America, the United States and the United Kingdom.

“His fans in Manicaland are lucky that this will be Tuku’s second show in the country after being away for a very long time,” added Hove.

Freddy Manjalima, popularly known as Kapfupi, and Apama Dance Group will complement Mtukudzi at the gig.
