The Harare branch of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) has re-elected Davison Norupiri as the organisation’s chairperson for the next two years.

Norupiri, managing director of Davipel Trading, was elected during the chamber’s annual general meeting (AGM) held in Harare on Wednesday.

He would be assisted by Devine Dhlukula and Clever Madzara, the managing director of Kalamazoo.

Norupiri said they had decided to work closely with the government so that members could benefit from various policies being put in place.

“There is no doubt that as a chamber we enjoy cordial relations and we agreed we should ensure this stay’s the same way,” said Norupiri.

“The government has already indicated its willingness to work with the chamber.”

Other executives members on the board include Knowledge Hofisi, Mkhululi Ndlovu, John Munjere, Joseph Chinhamo, Thomas Nherera and Sarah Muchinenyika.

Norupiri told the AGM the chamber like any business in the country had been affected by several challenges but was now turning the corner as evidenced by an increase in the chambers’ income in the last 12 months.

Finance committee chair Knowledge Hofisi said the chamber would soon be able to meet its financial obligations, which had accrued over the years as the revenue streams for the chamber continue to widen and improve.

ZNCC chief executive officer Andrew Matiza oversaw the AGM proceedings.
