Weekend Outing


Club Amnesia, which opened its doors to the public last weekend, will Friday night host a “Savannah Party” featuring DJs Dee Nice and Mos Deezy.

Saturday, DJs Dee-Vine, Storm and MC Cheetah will take over with MC Cheetah being the main attraction. The club is located at Strathaven shopping centre.

City Sports Bar

Dendera music star Sulumani Chimbetu will Friday night stage his second show at the club. The show will be in the bar’s beer garden where Tongai Moyo wowed audiences last week. Chimbetu will belt out his new tunes and mix them with his father’s all-time classics.


The long wait is over as Fusion, which had been closed for a while, will re-open its doors to the public Friday night. The club, located at Borrowdale Racecourse in Harare, will present popular DJs T-Bass and P-Styles of Bass and Styles fame who will be on the decks during the grand opening.
Portugal Restaurant (Pensao)

For a “Party-crazy Friday” and diverse cultural experience, check out the Pensao along Samora Machel Avenue (corner Eighth Street). DJs will be spinning the discs, playing an R&B, ragga,club, dancehall and versatile mix in the garden all night long.

Wrap up the weekend with original, seductive rhumba from Real Sounds of Africa on Sunday.

Milton Park Bowling Club

Urban Ent will this weekend present
“Defined Backtracking”, a party of old skool music from the 80s. DJs Limoluv and Knally will be on the decks.

Megga 1 & 2

Magesh dance group from Bulawayo will take to the stage Friday night at one of Harare’s largest open-air joints.

DJ Brian and Power FM’s Tinashe Chikuse will be selecting old skool and contemporary music tomorrow evening while Gudo and Explosion dance group will close the weekend line-up for Megga 1 which is located in Graniteside.

At Megga 2 in Hatfield, revellers will spend the weekend with DJ Wante.

Miami Night Club

Assegai Crew, which is popularly known as Ragga Manyika, will take tunes like all-time hit, Kanyama Karipi to revellers at the Sunningdale-located club.

The group is expected to go to Players Bar and Restaurant in the city centre while they will play at Tube Nightclub on Sunday evening.

Liquid Lounge

DJ Robie Tee will Friday night present a “Friday Xperience” where he will be playing Old Skool jams. Saturday, there will be old skool classics again.

East 24

Huggiez Entertainment will this weekend present old skool music with resident DJ Kudzi Marudza.
Major Sports Bar

The Bar, situated in Hatfield, will present DJ Flabba Saturday evening.

Eddy’s Kite (Chegutu)

One of Chegutu’s nightspots, Eddy’s Kite, will present Leonard Zhakata and the Zimbabwe All- Stars Friday night.

Uptown (Gweru)

Uptown Club will Saturday evening present The Return of Dee Nosh and L Roy (D&L). The two had been concentrating on Harare gigs for some time and this would be a cynace to reach out to other cities.

BULAWAYO — Friday night catch some spiritual healing at the Large City Hall where Harare-based internationally acclaimed gospel singer and pastor Bonnie Deuschle is set to perform.

The music concert dubbed “Singing with Angels” kicks off at 7pm and will run for two hours. Choirs from some of the biggest churches in the country will also perform.

Academy of Music

Saturday evening at the academy’s Robert Sibson Hall, there will be a gospel music concert titled “The sound of Inspiration, united in Praise”.

It will feature five gospel musicians based in the city. They are Asaph Kudita, Thabo Mlotshwa, Mthabisi Ndlovu, Velaphi Gumbo and Eric Moyo.

Bulawayo Art Gallery

The gallery will launch an exhibition Friday afternoon at 2pm featuring art works done by school-going kids drawn from 16 schools in the city.

Entitled “Khula Udweba”, the exhibition will showcase paintings, sculptures and wire art pieces. It will run until the end of April.

The exhibition is part of the gallery’s outreach programme that seeks to encourage appreciation of fine art among young people.

Jabula Inn (Esigodini)

Dance group Iyasa performs Friday night at 8pm. Saturday evening Harare-based five-member all-female outfit, Mambokadzi take to the stage starting at 8pm.

The group usually dances to sungura and rhumba music and this will also be a chance for music fans to sample the outfit’s debut album titled, Idanger released recently.

Gwanda District Club (Gwanda)

Veteran jazz musicians the Cool Crooners are set to showcase their jazz jams at the Gwanda District Club Friday evening.

The performance will be part of preparations for the National Youth Games which will be in the town in August. Poet Ngqindi will provide some words of wisdom while Bulawayo-based dance group Simunye Simunye Arts will also take to the stage.

River Dance Nightclub (Gwanda)

There will be a modelling show Saturday evening starting at 8pm. 15 models will take to the ramp. DJ Joe “Tha OG” will be behind the decks for the after party, playing a wide selection of R n B, hip-hop, house and ragga music. A similar show was held at the same venue last year.
