Entertainment galore at Nama

-

The National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) ceremony is on Friday night and organisers have put up an exciting line-up of performers.

The event takes place at 7Arts Theatre in Avondale and live performances will come from Victor Kunonga, Mahendere Brothers, Jeys Marabini, Mambokadzi, Ihawu Lesizwe as well as Tendai Manatsa and Selmor Mtukudzi.

It is expected to be a night of glamour and glitz as nominees walk on a red carpet while winners have a memorable treat.

Kunonga will do a solo performance and is excited about this opportunity to celebrate with the winners.

“I am delighted to be part of the performance at Nama. It is indeed going to be a different solo performance,” he said.

All the way from Bulawayo will be Marabini, coming to perform in Harare after a very long absence.

Marabini is an accomplished jazz artiste and his performance is expected to ignite the auditorium with exciting jazz tunes.

Selmor and Tendai are expected to lead the audience in opening the ceremony with the national anthem before delivering their own package of songs.

Mambokadzi and Ihawu Lesizwe will give a collaborative act, which promises to be a top-drawer performance.

Mahendere Brothers will lead a joint performance of all the groups, which is expected to be the climax of entertainment for the night.

The groups have been rehearsing for the act throughout the week and audiences should look forward to an exciting night as Nama celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Attendance to the awards ceremony is strictly by invitation.
