The Zimbabwe Under-19 cricket team will be hoping to avoid yet another series whitewash to South Africa when the two teams meet in the second Youth ODI at Stellenbosch University Grounds in Cape Town on Saturday.
South Africa lead the five-match series 1-0 after a comfortable 46-run win over Zimbabwe in the first match at the Goodwood Cricket Club Oval on Thursday.
Chasing 266 runs for victory Zimbabwe who had six debutants in their side were bowled out for 220 runs in 48,3 overs with wicketkeeper-batsman Kudzai Sauramba top scoring with 53 runs.
No doubt Zimbabwe will have to work on their batting shortcomings at the top of the order as they lost wickets at regular intervals after a 27-run opening partnership between Brian Chari and Kevin Kasuza.
After the first match the young Zimbabwe side showed that the strength of their bowling lay in the spinners-six of the eight South African wickets to fall, one of which was a run out.
Off spinner Kevin Bentley was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe after taking three wickets while fellow spinner Liberty Nherera chipped in with two wickets.
