The Matabeleland Squash Association games that had taken a break due to the festive season resume on January 18 and 19.
Lucky Mlilo, vice president of the association confirmed that action in the sport is now back
“We are now continuing with the summer league. We had gone on a festive season break. But the games are on now,” he said.
In the first match lined up Wonksters take on Riverside Bulls at Suburbs Squash Club. Eeyes will battle it out against Commercial Industrial Holdings (CIH) in another match that is set for Bulawayo Athletic Club (BAC).
Elsewhere Safeguard square off against Chase Marine at Suburbs squash club.
Renaissance take on Fuzzy Ducks at Old Miltonians while Hangers On will face Power Sales at Hornung Park.
At Bulawayo Athletic Club Queens Blazers play against Fuel Supplies.
Eeyes have collected a maximum of 78 points while Hangers On follow with a point behind on 77 points. Chase Marine are third with 69 points followed by Renaissance who are pegged at 60 points. Renaissance are tied with Riverside Bulls.
CIH have collected a maximum of 53 while Safeguard have 52 points and Power Sales 49 points.
Queens Blazers have amassed a total of 46 points followed by Fuzzy Ducks who have 43. Wonksters have only collected 28 points in the league so far while Fuel Supplies have only collected a paltry 18 points.
The Zimbabwe Open Squash Tennis tournament which will be staged in August this year is one of the biggest tournaments an the squash calendar.
