Fans speak on Gwekwerere move

Evans Gwekwerere has followed Washington Arubi, Benjamin Marere, Dylan Chivandire, Thabani Kamusoko and Murape in quitting Harare soccer giants Dynamos.

Gwekwerere has joined bitter rivals Caps United. But what do the fans think about this latest move? Read some of their comments below:

I think the Dynamos leadership is crazy.— Tinashe Maruta

They get a lot of gate-takings, far more than all other teams combined in the league but they don’t pay players, why? — Bishop Truth

Do you think Dynamos will collapse after losing these players? Don’t forget the team only improved after Shooting Stars took almost the entire team and people like Gwekwerere benefited as that created room for them. There are a lot of youngsters out there waiting for an opportunity to play for DeMbare. — Tatenda Kwenda

This executive knew that players’ contracts were going to expire by year-end. Why didn’t they renew the contracts of the players they were targeting for the Champions League before the end of the season? I feel sorry for Samaita (coach Lloyd Mutasa). Stop the recycling of these no good players and introduce new blood to Dynamos like players we have never heard of. — T K

Good luck Evans at Caps, you made a mark and played your part at our own beloved DeMbare. God bless you. — Kuda Kavhumbura

It now tells us the story why we failed to win the league Benjamin Marere and others betrayed us. I feel the Dynamos executive should investigate these guys.

They were paid to win matches but not by big margins to save a relegation bound team. Please (Mr) Munetsi let them go. Let us have players who have DeMbare at heart and if it is possible retrieve the list that you sent to Caf and redo it again by putting only players who are not money mongers. To Mutasa and others, do not be intimidated with will of God you will conquer the world. —Batai

Guys come to Mzansi we will make you rich. You will get you the best salaries ask your home boys. — Mokgadi Masipa, SA

Did he put pen to paper or is he still negotiating? But this should be good news to Caps United, remember Rambanepasi crossing the floor to DeMbare. All along I thought Dembare were the best paying team in Zimbabwe. — Lloyd Chinawa

What pains me most is we always support the team but the players do not benefit from the gate takings. Why are you doing this to the players? — Tsitsi Mercy Tsoka

I want to be Dynamos chairman. I guess I will also be able to buy myself a nice Merc and middle class house in Mandara. What about the team having a single owner but with a group of trustees just like Man U or Liverpool? — Tendai Tanyanyiwa

Good luck to him, it’s Dynamos’ loss. — Hlalanathi Pirlo Madotyeni

You did well Evans. I’m a Bosso fan but it’s tragic how football is being run at DeMbare and the entire country. My heart bleeds. — Panganai Robert Kasenza

Welcome to Makepekepe son. Enjoy. — Thomizha Magede

We are saddened by Dynamos but if this brings food on Evans’ table then it’s ok. We wish him well with you (Caps United) guys. — Edson Masilo
