Veteran South African disco musician Dan Tshanda is set to perform in Bulawayo on Thursday night together with local sungura great, Tongai “Dhewa” Moyo.
This will not be Tshanda’s first gig in Zimbabwe, as he has performed in the country on several occasions and has performed at packed stadia.
Possent Sikhosana from Hella Hella Entertainment, organisers of the show, said Tshanda will bring other top South African artistes from his stable including Freddy Gwala, Dalom Kids, Peacock and Matshikos.
The show will be held at Hatfield Sports ground.
“He will bring his full stable and his fans can expect a great show,” he said.Sikhosana said the show will kick off at 6pm and end late.
Tshanda is a popular musician who has produced a number of albums that have been hits. They include: Peacock, Eye for an eye, Nesindande, Khoma Khoma, Ndosala, Double Face, Crocodile and Ndivhuwo.
Dhewa, however, needs no introduction, well-known for his electrifying dances and songs that touch on a lot of issues. The show is set to be one of the most popular in Bulawayo this festive season.
Freddy Gwala, who is popularly known as Madamara after a popular yesteryear hit of the same name, also has a number of albums under his belt. He has mesmerised his fans with his hits and fancy footwork.
The message in his songs calls upon people to shun crime and live straight lives. Gwala is a self-confessed former criminal.
