Groovers fund raise for under-privileged

The Urban Grooves Association together with Power FM will Saturday, at the Italian Sports club in Harare, host for the first time ever the “Grove Power Football Match”, which is a fundraising activity for the less privileged children.

Those attending will be required to bring their old or new clothes and packed groceries that will later be given to children in various foster homes around the city.

“Those who will fail to bring the donations in form of clothes or groceries will be required to pay a certain amount of cash although we would have preferred that everyone to cooperates with the request,” said Urban Grooves Association public relations officer, Joe Machingura.

He said the match would be between popular urban Groovers from the Urban Grooves Association, popular radio disc jockeys from Power FM, a leading ZBC brand and entertainment print journalists.

Machingura said some of the artistes expected to participate included Winky D, Sanii Makhalima, Leonard Mapfumo, Tererai Mugwadi, Ex-Q, Stunner and Sabastian Magacha, among others.
