Africa Hospitality will on December 12 host the second Annual Zimbabwe Mass Choral Festival at Christ Ministries in Belvedere.
Over 25 church choirs from around the country will take part in the competition after most of the participating groups held their in-house competitions early this year.
“Our theme this year is “Unifying the body of Christ,” said the events coodinator, Stanley Dhlakama.
He said their objective was to promote and uplift various choral groups in Zimbabwe.
Dhlakama said there would be no set piece as they were trying to eliminate the denominational barrier that had been growing among various churches.
“Some of the church choirs to expect in the completion are New Life Covenant, Reformed Church in Zimbabwe, Harmony Singers, Shower Power, Celebration Choir and many more,” he said.
He said last year, the main prize of a recording contract was scooped by the United Methodist Budiriro Church choir out of the 16 choirs that participated in the competition that was held at the Harare School of Music.
Dhlakama said this time the competition would be a bigger and improved event where a lot of prizes would be won.
The Annual Zimbabwe Mass Choral Festival was conducted last year for the first time and will continue annually as it brings people together.
