The church is the processing plant for human souls.
The finished product is destined for heaven upon physical death and the by-product gives heavenly light and salt to the society.
The church, therefore, is the place to belong to in order to be effective in the earthly realm and acceptable in heaven.
In Jeremiah 18, the Bible likens God to the potter that fashions pottery. In God’s potter’s house (the church), sinners receive salvation and deliverance.
Some human vessels are redone, reshaped and polished for dispatch on Kingdom assignment.
Some come with broken hearts, divorced, sick, broke, homeless, or suffering from HIV or Aids and when they receive the Potter’s touch they get healed and restored and walk out free.
That is why we see the lame walk, the blind seeing and many other forms of miracles, signs and wonders in the church.
King David knew this and remarked in Psalm 27 :4(KJV), “One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.”
If I were you, I would not waste any time but rush to church.
I have heard people saying that such and such a church is full of thieves, prostitutes, drunkards, witches and all sorts of social outcasts. When sinners begin to go to church, then Jesus is at work.
Church is like a panel beater’s workshop. When the world infects souls of people with evil, the church will be the restorer.
When a car gets involved in an accident and is sent to the panel beater, some parts are beaten up and straightened and others completely removed and re-sprayed and the car goes back on the road.
In case of a write-off, the insurer gives you a new one if you are adequately insured. So let everyone come to church and meet with the Maker, the Insurer of your precious life, Jesus who died for you.
The Scribes and the Pharisees accused Jesus’ ministry of being full of sinners. He told them, “. . . they that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”(Luke 5:31-32 KJV).
So if you think you are perfect let those that know that they cannot do without Jesus meet their Saviour. Do not be Pharisaic and block the door for others which you neither enter yourself.
We have all fallen short of the standard of God and if we say we are sinless, we are deceiving ourselves and making God a liar.
Church is the compass of society. It gives us direction as to the purpose of God for humankind. The church will not change goalposts as to the requirements of God. God says “. . . Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy.” (Leviticus 19:2 KJV).
We shall not be apologetic for God’s holiness. When Jesus said that strait (narrow, restricted) is the gate to life and narrow is the way, He meant it.
The wide and broad way leads to destruction. God set the limits and the church shall not override God and extend the limits by allowing homosexuality in the constitution, sex before marriage and other forms of weird and wicked ways.
A problem is not solved at the same level you created it. A level one problem needs level two solution. This is the reason why we engage the spiritual (which is a higher dimension) to solve the physical.
A human answer to man-made problems adds to the problem and only arrests the symptoms and not the cause.
The church will therefore not be a cover up but will root out the problem and mend the lives of God’s people. It will not rubber-stamp any agenda that suppresses the truth of the Bible.
Before you accuse the church of being archaic and not moving with the times, let us examine ourselves and check if we are not calling the church to fall into the ditch together with us.
We will not rewrite the Bible but simply interpret the one we have.
