Ex-housemates awed by Munya’s fate

Ex-housemates in the latest edition of the Big Brother Africa All -Stars have been awed by how fortune has favoured Munya after he missed out on the grand prize of $200 000 but went on to receive $300 000 raised by local businessmen.

As if that was not enough, Munya was also presented with a $20 000 diamond ring and appointed diamond ambassador by an Indian diamond firm.

Big Brother Africa 3 Namibian housemate Lucille Naobes said Zimbabwe was a supportive country judging by the support Munya has received.

“Zimbabwe is a great country,” said Lucille, “Maybe I should migrate there.”

She said the gift was probably a fulfiment of prophecy because Munya called himself diamond boy during his stay in the house.

“It’s so ironic because when we were in the house he (Munya) loved that song, Diamond Girl,” she said.

She added that she was very happy for him and his family and giving him the money was a generous gesture.

“Munya is a good person, he is such a softie, and he wears his heart on his sleeve. He is a very genuine person and deserves such a blessing,” she said.

Code Sangala, who was in BB5 with Munya, said after he was evicted, he wished Munya would eventually be given the money.

He said that Zimbabwe’s decision to give Munya money as consolation was well respected and that other countries should emulate the shining example.

“I believe that he deserves it,” he said. “Being named the diamond ambassador is a milestone of great things to come.”

Takondwa Nkonjera from BB3 said he thought Munya would win from the beginning but was nevertheless overjoyed that Zimbabwe appreciated him that much because he was the real winner.

“It’s great that Munya was made the diamond ambassador,” he said. “I know he will be a great ambassador for them,” said Takondwa.

He said he always got along with Munya and he became close friends with him and Adiona Maboreke, his wife.

Thami Prusent, from BB3 praised Munya for putting himself in a situation where some corporate, such as MultiChoice Zimbabwe – which recently gave Munya an HD decoder – thought it prudent to use him as a vehicle for their brands.

He said it was now up to Munya to offer a sustainable return on investment for these companies.
