Scripture reference: Genesis 1:1-2:3
In this instalment we are going to look at day five and first part of day six of creation (Genesis 1:20-25).
On the fifth day God created sea and sky life.
On the sixth day He created animals and human beings.
It is important to note that God brought order to creation before giving life to it.
He brought light and separated the waters first.
As we saw on the third day, God created plants, trees and grass after He had made the dry land.
He created the seas first then the fish, the sky first then the birds and the grass before the cattle.
Order and proper procedures are very important in our lives.
Imagine the scenario if God created cattle before dry land or the birds before the firmament.
There are foundational issues in human development that have to be laid first so that the blessing of the Lord has a place to rest.
We need to do first things first.
You need to go to school first before you talk about employment, get married first before you talk about family planning.
Create the capacity first then God will have a place to pour out His blessing.
The Promised Land was always there but God had to develop the people first.
While the children of Israel were wandering in the wilderness, the Promised Land was flowing with milk and honey.
Many times we think we are so behind in life and would want to take short cuts because we think God is delaying us.
You end up being married just because he/she is of the opposite sex.
When the one you really would have loved comes along the way; you divorce or get a “small house”.
You may settle for a low income job because you don’t want to spend an extra hour a day on a desk.
You may settle on setting up a small company because you do not want the hassles of preparation for a conglomerate.
In capacity building, there are certain principles that God honours.
Although God is not limited, He is not wasteful and will not give you anything without room for it.
Read the story of the widow of Zarepath in 2 Kings 4:1-7 whose harvest only stopped because she had run out of containers.
The first thing to do is to deal with the mindset, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
(Romans 12:2 KJV).
The right mind will get you to the will of God.
In the wilderness; God was dealing with the mindset of Israelites.
There is a mindset for poverty and lack and another one for riches and abundance.
Tune your mind to the great plan of God. Create space and ask God to come in.
Another principle that God honours is that He will not give you the next assignment before you fulfil the last assignment.
His next assignment is as good as the last unfulfilled assignment.
Imagine driving along a road that ends with a T-junction where you have to turn either right or left and if you proceed ahead there is a ditch.
Many of us are waiting at the junction because God told us to turn left or right and we are comfortable with going ahead straight into the ditch because we do not want to turn.
Make the correct turn in your life.
Don’t hunt for a prophetic word, act on the last one.
Another important principle in capacity building is that when you are calling for promotion or just change in life you are actually asking for hard work, responsibility and discomfort.
Your next level in life will mean either more prayer, fasting, less sleep, less outing, more hours in the library etc.
l We appeal to every one of you to continue to plead the blood of Jesus on the land, seas and skies day and night.
You may have observed that in this season there have been fatalities globally.
This is caused by satan who is making sacrifices and is demanding blood in this season that culminates on 31 October with Halloween, one of satan’s most evil day of sacrifices of animals and humans.
We write this not to intimidate you but to make you aware so that you tell the devil that the blood of Jesus will never lose its power.
If he wants blood, let him drink the blood of Jesus.
Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:.” (KJV). Now that you know, you will not be destroyed, “. . . but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” (Psalms 118:17 KJV).
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen
