Despite the challenges she faced with the national airline, whose employees were on strike, before leaving the country for Miss World in China, Samantha Tshuma seems to have settled well in China with other Miss World contestants.
Tshuma is part of this year’s Miss World pageant which kicked off on October 1.
She joined other contestants from 120 countries who are also competing for the Miss World 2010 title.
Crowds welcomed the Miss World contestants, including Tshuma, as they touched down at Beijing International Airport for the start of their month-long tour of China.
The contestants passed through Shanghai last week where they visited the Shanghai Expo and also engaged in a charity auction dinner.
They left for Sanya, China, on Monday where they will participate in five fast- track events (Miss Beach Beauty, Miss Talent, Miss Top Model, Miss Beauty with a Purpose and Miss World Sports Woman).
The finals are set to take place on October 30 at the city of Sanya, located in China’s Hainan province.
Last year, the crown went to Kaiane Aldorino from Gibraltar.
Aldorino will crown her successor on the night of the finals.
