Internationally-acclaimed American talkshow host, author and motivational speaker Johnny Wimbrey will on October 8 be the guest speaker at the motivational fair, Think and Win Big, at the Celebration Centre in Harare.
Wimbrey is known for training and encouraging thousands through seminars and events throughout the world and his inspirational story of overcoming life’s adversities has empowered masses for greatness.
“I saw Johnny Wimbrey in London last year, and when I saw that he was coming to talk in Johannesburg, I asked him if he would consider including Harare in his engagements.
And he said yes,” said the coordinator Colette Bowers.
She said this would be an opportunity for all Zimbabweans to hear issues on overcoming adversity.
According to Wimbrey’s website, after experiencing childhood hardships following his parents’ divorce, drug abuse, gang involvement and loss of his close friend to murder, Wimbrey quickly realised that the only person one could truly rely on was himself.
He then decided it was finally time to “flip the switch”.
With a fresh new outlook and his mind set on success, Wimbrey’s determination to succeed surmounted the struggle, and he soon landed a successful career in insurance, which later gave him stability that he had never experienced.
It is said that Wimbrey continued to excel in the insurance business and began spreading his knowledge to new recruits and it was during this time that he realised that he had a remarkable capacity to speak.
After much pursuit, he began launching his seminars in 2000, with more focus on discovering the psychology of success and the traits of a winning mind-set.
Since then, Wimbrey’s goal has been to inspire others with the success secrets that his own life has proven to work and in the last year, Johnny has spread his life-enhancing words to audiences around the world.
He has held motivational talkshows in London, Australia, Singapore, South Africa, Amsterdam, Israel and the Virgin Islands.
He has also authored From the Hood to Doing Good, an inspirational book that motivates people to put past pains behind them.
He is also a professional member of the National Speakers Association and his message is to expose the reality, “Your past doesn’t determine your future and if I can do it, anyone can.”
It is said some of his most requested speaking topics are Success Coach/Trainer, Youth Enrichment, Leadership Enrichment and Overcoming Adversity.
