The highly publicised DJ Cindo show last Friday night at a Harare club was marred by controversy as fans cried foul over the little time the South African DJ had at the turntables.
DJ Cindo played for slightly over an hour, between 1.15am and 2.30am.
Although the show had been scheduled to start at exactly 9pm, it only roared into life three hours later, after some fans had already left in disappointment.
After the curtain-raiser by local DJ Naida, DJ Cindo took over for an hour before handing over to another South African DJ – Lady Cream – she had tagged along. The club’s manager, Patrick Kanyama, however insisted that DJ Cindo played for the agreed duration although there was a delay in her appearance.
Patrons had parted with a cool $10 to watch DJ Cindo do her thing. Kanyama added that the reason why the audience was depleted was because they advertised late for the show, so many people were not aware of it.
