Brick and Lace show or DJ Cleo party?

-

Soon after Psyfo’s no-show at Circus Night Club (Chocolate City) after the South African was deported ahead of a highly publicised show, the club has probably set itself up for a major fall as it has scheduled DJ Cleo to perform the very night that Jamaican reggae sisters, Brick and Lace, will be doing their thing in town.
DJ Cleo is the next big South African billed to perform at Circus on Saturday night, at the same time that Brick and Lace will also be having a show across town at Fusion.
The Jamaican sisters, whose real names are Nyanda and Nailah Thorbourne, arrived on Monday and are lodged at a local hotel.
The duo is expected to perform in Mutare on Friday before their Harare show.
However, organisers of the DJ Cleo show are unfazed, arguing that the Jamaican pair was not a threat.
“We are challenging Brick and Lace by bringing DJ Cleo, definitely more people are going to come to Circus because we have a better deal,” said Cynthia Qongo, entertainment manager of Circus Night Club.
“If it means playing dirty to draw the crowds, then Circus probably have a deadly ace up their sleeve.
“I think we’ll attract more people because we have girls dressed in beach wear, so definitely more people will be coming to our beach party on Saturday,” Qongo added.
DJ D-Nosh and L-Roy will also be helping DJ Cleo.
Tickets to the Cleo show are pegged at $10 while the Brick and Lace show tickets have been set at $10, $20 with a limited VIP section pegged at $30.
Brick and Lace were signed by hip-hop singer-songwriter Akon – who is billed also to perform alongside Sean Paul on September 4 at the National Sports Stadium – to his record label, Kon Live Distribution. The duo has toured internationally, including Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia.
Their debut album, Love Is Wicked, had a limited release in various countries on September 4, 2007. The album spawned four singles: Get That Clear (Hold Up), Never Never, Love is Wicked and Take Me Back.
