Depleted Dynamos leave for Algeria

-

Dynamos coach Elvis Chiweshe will not tinker with the team that edged Algerian side Entente Setif ahead of the two teams’ return Orange African Champions League mini-league match in Setif at the weekend.
The former Zimbabwe champions are expected to jet out of the country on Tuesday for the north African country, despite their threat to pull out of the safari due to lack of funds.
Chiweshe said the same side which battled to a 1-0 win over the same opponents will do the job away from home. DeMbare beat the Algerians courtesy of a solitary strike by Wonder Sithole to collect their first set of three points.
“I will not change the team. The problem that I have been facing is changing players for various reasons.
“Some of the players I wanted to use for this competition were not registered or failed to join our club. For example, I wanted Clive Kawinga from Eagles but we failed to get him on board. I’m faced with a drought of strikers for the forthcoming match but we will have to do with what we have,” said Chiweshe.
He was lamenting the absence of his usual arsenal of Evans Gwekwerere and Cuthbert Malajila. Gwekwerere is out injured while Malajila has since left the country for Club Africain of Tunisia.
Chiweshe said: “Benji (Marere) is injury-prone but he trained today (yesterday) and I’m being forced to play him as a striker with Dylan (Chivandire).” Dynamos squad: Washington Arubi, Munyaradzi Diya, David Kutyauripo, Tafadzwa Maingire, Brighton Tuwaya, Ashley Rambanapasi, Edmore Mashiri, Khumbulani Banda, Thabani Kamusoko, George Magariro, Milton Makopa, Wonder Sithole, Benjamin Marere, Guthrie Zhokinyi, Isaac Pitamuja, Dylan Chivandire and Nicholas Alufandika.
