Entertainment Authority (EA), proprietors of some of the country’s finest entertainment joints, is set to open a new open-air venue in Msasa — just in time for summer.
The joint, called Q’bana (pronounced as Kibana), is scheduled to open to the public a day before the much-anticipated Akon show on Friday September 3 at 9pm with a launch party featuring urban groover, Roki.
Q’bana boasts a magnificent open-air arena.
The pleasant atmosphere, with manicured lawns, hedges and trees, naturally balancing rocks, well-maintained gazebos and easily accessible bars, provides the ideal ambiance for outdoor entertainment.
EA group marketing executive Tinopona Katsande said Q’bana will be open only on weekends — Friday to Sunday — with various events featured on each day.
“On Fridays we’ll have Q’bana TGIF (Thank God it’s Friday) and gates open 4pm till late.
“We’ll also have a full bar and braai. Music from the DJs will span from Old Skool to the freshest beats.
“On Saturdays, we have the Q’bana Mix’n’Mingle and on Sundays we have the Q’bana Family Day,” she said.
The resident DJs’ list, set to be on rotation, is also a major attraction as it features renowned professionals in the business, including DJ Chilli, who is also known for presenting the popular Woza Friday music programme on ZTV1. Power FM DJs Miss Sweet Thang and Scott will also be on the turntables at Q’bana, together with prolific club DJs Killa Kelly and Storm.
Q’bana is set to be the happening venue for outdoor entertainment in Harare.
EA boasts of over 5 000 patrons that span across all ages and social status, largely determined by the club or event.
