Big goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda was the hero for Caps United after saving the decisive penalty from Lengthens midfielder Arnold Chiveya as Caps United
progressed to the final of the BancABC Sup8r after a shootout at Rufaro on Sunday.

The match had ended 0-0 after both regulation and extra time and headed to the dreaded penalty.

Lengthens goalkeeper Muzondiwa Gonese saved two penalties from Marvel Samaneka and Gilbert Mapemba.

But he failed to convert his own spot kick while Philip Makanje hit the upright as Caps United sailed through.

For Caps, captain Nyasha Mukumbi, Danger Fourpence and Sibanda were on target.

Then Sibanda dived to his left to save Arnold Chiveya’s spot kick, which could have taken the shootout into sudden death.

Captain Godfrey Moyo and young Norest Mkwezvaramba had converted their penalties for Lengthens.

For Lengthens and coach Joisten Mathuthu it meant there will be no second BancABC final after leading Caps United to victory in 2008.

Caps United will now meet the winner of the disputed match between Highlanders and Dynamos that was abandoned at Barbourfields on Saturday with
17 minutes of game time left to play.
