Ndebele Paramount Chief Khayisa Ndiweni, who died in his sleep a week ago, will be laid to rest this morning near his homestead in Ntabazinduna, about 30 kilometres outside Bulawayo.
Family spokesperson Wilson Bancinyane Ndiweni said necessary preparations had been made for the burial of the traditional leader who passed on at the age of 97 after serving as chief for 71 years.
Ndiweni said the traditional leader, who was accorded a state-assisted-funeral, would be laid to rest at Nhlambabaloyi in Ntabazinduna.
“The funeral programme starts at eight in the morning,’’ he said.
Last evening, Ndiweni’s body was taken from Farley Funeral Services in Bulawayo to lie in state at his homestead overnight before burial.
